Spring Preseason Tournament, April 16

Come out on April 16th for the "Wind Up" Spring Preseason Tournament to shake off the rust, get your game and trash talk back up where they should be with some friendly competition, and take your shot at winning bragging rights going into WSEM's inaugural season... and some pocket change! We're looking for up to 8 teams. League teams, take advantage of the opportunity to loosen up and work out any kinks, so you can run into the season at full speed. Non-league and pick up teams are invited to join in and try to make our league teams look silly. We're equal opportunity employers of both humiliation and champions! So, get in touch with us on facebook or send us an email to let us know your interested and get your team signed up for the 2011 Spring Preseason Tournament. Big things are going to happen for Wiffle in Southeast Michigan this year; this is just the Wind Up!

The field is set for the April 16, 2011 Spring Preseason "Wind Up" Tournament! Eight teams: six league teams and two non-league teams captained by members of WSEM rosters. Just about the perfect spread we were looking for in this preseason event. Plenty of our guys loosening up and a bit of new blood to show ourselves off to.

Tournament teams:
  • Belgian Wiffles
  • The Donkeys (Captained by Joe Seto of the Commandos)
  • Flying Squirrels
  • Git r' Done
  • Jason Mattseals
  • Travelers (Captained by Jay Mac of the Belgian Wiffles)
  • Westside Warriors
  • Wiffling DeLoppes

Games will start at 10:30am, but try to get to the fields around 10:00am, so you can be set up, warmed up, and ready to go. Games will be played on 2 fields: Hoppe's Field and a second built behind the house. Each team will get 2 round robin games with 30 minute time limits, and then a double elimination playoff. The playoffs will begin around 1pm with 45 minute time limits, so we can finish before it gets dark just after 8pm. Playoff seeding will be determined by Wins, head-to-head, run differential, then losses in extra innings.
