Tournament Schedule

We plan on holding three tournaments throughout the summer alongside of the league. Two will bookend the season: one on April 16th at the Hoppe's as a preseason warm-up, and one in mid-to-late August as a postseason celebration. The third will be held on June 18th to keep with our Flag Day tradition. Update: We're planning on using the Flag Day tourney as an "All-Star tournament." League players will vote for the all-star team (2 pitchers, 3 fielders) and the selected team will be given free entry into the tournament, not to mention a huge target on their backs as they try to earn the title with the rest of the league gunning for them. To clarify: this tourney will feature the WSEM All-Stars versus the rest of the league and any outside teams! It's a fun opportunity to switch things up a bit and see just how good the best of us are.

The tournament fee is only $10 per person on a team, and there will be a cash prize awarded to the champions. Non-league teams are welcome and encouraged to participate in all tournaments. If you play for a league team, but want to try your hand with a different lineup or even make an "all-star" lineup with guys from other teams league, go right ahead! Other than pride and fun the main purpose of the tournaments is to give new people the chance to play, get a feel for the game, and have some experience with wiffleball, so they will want to be more involved in the future.

We'll also be including a Home Run Derby in at least the All-star Tournament this year. It will cost $1 if you choose to participate with the yellow bat, $2 with the aluminum Easton bat, $3 with a corked yellow bat, $4 with the griffey bat, or $5 with the loco or orange nerf bat; all of the entry money from the derby will be put into the prize purse and awarded to the HR Derby champion. Participants will be given 10 swings in a preliminary round held during round-robin play. The 4 participants with the most home runs after the first round will then be given 10 more swings later in the day, when available, to determine the champion.
